This is the target prescribed in the 1909 musketry regulations for the famed “Mad Minute” the British Expeditionary forces were so famed for during WWI. The later 1910 regulations give more detail on the targets themselves.

This was a personal project I would like to share. I wanted a simulated target for indoors use with snap caps. In the short time I’ve been doing this, I absolutely recommend getting some snap caps and a small target and “shoot” it frequently. I also quickly made some larger targets for other ranges as it made sense for the sizes of paper.

In the package you will get color and simple line drawings of the targets for you to print and color how you like. The regulations only specify a generic coloration. I have attempted to fit the descriptions the best I can with the tools I have. The Black and white pages can used as coloring projects for your kids before range day.

U.S. Paper sizes
100 Yard target is 16 inches by 16 inches. Print on a “C size” page.
50 Yard target is 8 inches by 8 inches. Print on a “A size” page.
25 Yard target is 4 inches by 4 inches. Print on a “A size” page.
10 Yard target is 1.6 inches by 1.6 inches. Print on a “A size” page. (great for indoor use)
25 Foot target is 1.33 inches by 1.33 inches. Print on a “A size” page. (great for indoor use)

40 Meter target is 17.76cm by 17.76cm. Print on a “A4 size” page.
