Description

***Now with checkered texturing on the mag release***

Speed up magazine changes by dropping the magazine free with your trigger finger. This magazine release is fully ambidextrous.

Parts ship with and included 1/8″ diameter slave pin to aid in installation. You will need a 1/4″(6mm) flat screw driver to install this part as well. (see our soon-to-be-released instructional video for more details)

This part is made to order using 3D metal printing process and has an approximate 4 week lead time.

We designed these parts to work best with Ruger brand magazines. Other magazine brands seem to work, but there may be some that don’t. We cannot feasibly verify every aftermarket magazine.

Really, really tight fit, needs to be broken in quite a bit before it works smoothly. Nice idea though. Makes an instant mag drop , but until it wears in make sure the mag is locked in tight.

Cogburn Arsenal is perfecting the Ruger Mini 14.

This is one of those “I don’t know how I lived without it” products. Installation was a little tedious but if you follow the video and are good with your hands it’s not complicated at all. Comes with a slave pin too. Putting the trigger group back into the rifle is a little complicated and you have to find the sweet spot in the trigger group and the stock to accommodate for the new magazine release. Magazines are easier to put into the magwell. When you push the mag release it drops the magazine without interference. Of course you can still use your other hand to grab the magazine. Since it drops the magazines out freely, this made my magazine changes go from very fast to scary fast. Using the safety is a little more crowded but its nearly impossible for me to accidentally hit the mag release and drop the magazine. Works with 5 round Ruger magazines too. The wait time was about 2 and a half weeks since its metal 3d printing, but well worth the wait and $42.95. Comes with a Cogburn Arsenal sticker too.

This mag release is pretty awesome. Be forewarned that it fits pretty snug. In fact I had to file either side to into my trigger group. Once I fit it to my trigger group everything slid in like it was supposed to. Getting the trigger group back in the rifle was also not affected. The mag release works with my Ruger, ProMag 10rd, and American brand Mini 30 magazines. Buy with confidence.

Awesome. I have been waiting for this for a long time and it lives up to the rest of Cogburn’s products. I had very little trouble fitting it.

The best Mini 14 magazine release, period.
I made a short video, see below.

Installation was fairly fast and I had ZERO issues with the install.

Amazing product, I don’t know why Ruger doesn’t use this part as OEM. Mags drop freely just utilizing your trigger finger.

This item fit perfectly into my 186 series Mini-14. Allows the user to release mag ambidextrously, with little or no movement of the “Trigger- hand” which is holding the rifle. No problem with 30-rd mags.

Suggest paying close attention to installation instruction video, and using the included “slave-pin” to make things less of a hassle. Main issue is to “drop” in the spring.

This one of those things when done right once, it becomes simple to do again. Practice makes perfect. Most of don’t have any sort of practice on installing this item, so watch the video, and use the “slave pin”. Be patient; If I can do it, so can you.

It’s a little more difficult to install than it looks on the video! Do yourself a favor, and clamp your trigger group upside-down in a vise when you install this. But don’t blow your cool and throw it out in the trees, because once you get it installed, it is an outstanding improvement!

Awsome product! Very well engineered, works perfectly! Ruger should be using these! Installation is a bit tedious but worth the trouble!
    WELL DONE!

Functionally -perfect design idea. Exactly how Ruger should have designed it in the first place. Great product.
However, I did have to file the back of the catch a bit, just above the pivot pin, to get it to release fully, easily, and reliably. But honestly, that took all of maybe 10 minutes.
It also realy should have a textured finger pad surface to keep your finger from wanting to slip off outwardly as you push forward on it.
For that reason alone I wouldn’t give it a full 5 stars. A solid 4 out of 5 “with a bullet” though.

    A dramatic improvement.
A little fumbly-bumbly to install but… only once!
    Then it’s Happy-Happy Joy-Joy!
Ruger should buy a patent right to this and just add them to their new rifles.

I wish they made these for the M-14/M1A rifles too.

I have had this item for about a 1/2 a year now. I needed time before leaving a review. This mag ejector lever works well! Thanks Cogburn – well done!
